What causes the stablitrak light/system to come on without any warning?

Asked by GuruC7MW Apr 13, 2017 at 11:48 PM about the 2016 Chevrolet Malibu 1LT FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

We purchased a 2016 Chevy Malibu in Feb of 2017 with 8600 miles.  Since purchasing the car 2 months ago we have had the stabilitrak system/light come on 3 time.  Two of the times we were traveling with the cruise control on at 60 mph and almost lost control of the car when this came on.  We have taken it to our dealer once and they said they couldn't find anything and that there was a history that needed to be reset???  Has this happened to other Malibus?  We do not feel safe driving this car if this is going to continue and a solution cannot be found.  HELP??????

That's mean the traction control system it's off .the pcm find problem 1-abs system or steering angles sensor or suspension. If the dealership checking all this system and said good this is stored code on pcm just bull the negative terminal out and wait for 10 min after the connect the terminal. If the light go off drive your vehicle 30 miles per hour and push hard brake and look if the light back again tell me
