High-mileage? One possible reason is your timing is off and the knock-sensor is kicking in and shutting the motor off to prevent it from being damaged. Another is a bad electrical connection. Check for a "check engine" light or have the OBD (on-board diagnostics) trouble codes scanned - that can be done for free at most auto parts stores. Just ask at the counter.

It could also be caused by a partially blocked air passage in the engine breathing system or an idle control senor or other air sensor or faulty electrical condition.

I have 2008 honda accord I was driving when my car shut off so I pulled over to the side I noticed engine light and oil light battery light came on so I turned it on again to get it to nearest store to check the oil it was low I put a court in the light went off but this morning start up my car and it w n for a few minutes the went off again what's wrong g with my car help.

My car was low on oil I filled my tank with gas it was riding normal then out of nowhere it just went off ? The motor went cold
