Korean quality compared to Japan and US

Asked by Kmammadova Jun 14, 2020 at 11:35 AM about the 2016 Kia Sedona LX

Question type: Shopping & Pricing

So we bought a 2016 KIa Sedona in 2017
used that already had about 45k miles on it.
Over the years while the car has been fine
there have had some interior quality issues
that have been annoying.

Now we are looking for a new car and my
husband is interested in buying another
Korean car (New Hyundai Santa Fe) and I
think the quality of Korean manufacturers is
suspect because of our KIA experience. But
should I be skeptical of Korean car quality
because I believe Japan and the US make
better quality or should I beware that we
bought used car that had been driven hard in
the year before we bought it. As I mentioned
the issues we are having are in the interior and
not engine or drive train related.

Thanks,
Kamila

My 2012 Kia Sedona is awesome. 160k and going strong. Very fast, few repairs. Great on gas even with the 270 horse engine.
