Motor fan

Asked by Wabbithunter Aug 01, 2018 at 02:32 AM about the 2016 Ford Explorer Police Interceptor Utility AWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2016 Ford Explorer 3.7 liter.
The motor fan kicks on every 30
seconds and only runs for a few
seconds. When your outside the
vehicle you can't hear yourself think. It
seems to really draw the motor down
when it kicks on also. Thoughts?
Temperature is fine.

Electric fan could be hitting the shroud or the motor for the fan could be going out. If you're under mileage it should be covered by warranty.

Have the same problem with the 2016 ford explore fan keeps on coming on temperature outside is cool it only kicks on for a few seconds and goes off did you ever figure out the problem

I just figured out that on my 2017 Ford Explorer XLT fuse #22 Electronic Fan Relay was blown. Changed it and low power fan is working agaian.
