Mileage isn't always a true indicator of condition , If it was maintained and had proper oil changes 68k isn't that high . However " sport " says to me that it was a performance car and probably got driven that way
Sixty-eight thousand miles is about average for a seven year old car. But this car, like many from Ford has a miserable future. The 2016 Ford Edge lasts around 200,000 miles with some serious engine and steering system issues. it’s cheaper to buy than a lot of other midsize SUVs, but not worth the money when repairs cost thousands. And at this mileage, that's about when troubles start..... For reliability, stay wit Lexus, Toyota, Mazda, and Honda.
Figure ten to fifteen thousand miles per year for the age of the vehicle. So in this case the 68,000 miles on a 7 year old vehicle is fine. A little lower than low average. Also, generally speaking, most vehicles will last well beyond the one hundred thousand mile mark if taken care of. My 2003 Chevrolet S10 Pick Up is a retired delivery vehicle from my job. It currently has 307,000 miles on it and runs like a champ. I've had it for 12 years now and haven't put a ton of money in it. It's not perfect, obviously, but it always gets me where I want to go. Sounds like you did your homework. I would suggest looking on carcomplaints.com and see what others, who own the same type of vehicle you're looking at, have to say about them. Hope that helps! Jim
