Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Driving down the road today. Coming to a stop. Car
basically shuts down. Light comes on and it says
our car in park and start. After doing so nothing
happens. Gas pedal just pushes to the floor. Phone
and electronics still work. Car just will not drive.

There is a fuse in the safety plug for the hybrid 270 volt battery in the trunk. In my 2011 Optima, it is located on the wall between the trunk and passenger compartment behind a rectangular panel in the carpeting. to remove it, pull down on the notch at the top of the orange part. that is part of a lever that unlocks the safety plug. With the lever down, pull the plug straight out toward you. Inside the orange gadget there is a very heavy-duty fuse that can be replaced using a philips screwdriver For the do-it- yourselfer, replacing just the fuse instead of the whole assembly can save you hundreds of dollars over the dealership price, not to mention the cost of their labor and diagnostics.
