Question type: General

I have a 2015 Silverado 1500 All Star Edition.  I want to disable the Drivers Seat Belt alarm as I am one of those that thinks it should be the decision of an adult to wear it or not instead of the government telling me too.

Put the seat belt behind the seat and click it together. It's near impossible to disable the chime, they intentionally put in on a fuse that will disable other critical things, so people don't simply pull the fuse.

There is a sensor in the reciever that detects the seatbelt being plugged into the reciever which trigger the alarm when the truck is in motion. The simple solution is to go on ebay search seatbelt alarm canceler. I do not condone bypassing safety devices so by doing so, your doing it at your own risk.

Not sure if the '15's are the same (probably not, knowing GM ...), but on my '07 Silverado (not classic), I just unplugged the wire under the seat to the sensor in the seat belt latch. Problem solved. Now if I could only get that damn key-in door dinger to stop, before I fix it permanently ... with a 4 lb. sledge ....

According to some internet information it is under the seat of the drivers side, NOT a fuse. Laura Ann Weaver
