2016 Subaru Legacy 2.5i Limted or 2015 Subaru Legacy 3.6R Limited

Asked by Chico0727 Feb 27, 2019 at 03:50 PM about the 2015 Subaru Legacy 3.6R Limited AWD

Question type: Shopping & Pricing

Both cars are priced at about 20K each. the 2016 has Navigation System, Adaptive Cruise Control, Sunroof/Moonroof  and is CPO. The 2015 has Leather Seats, Sunroof/Moonroof, Navigation System, Adaptive Cruise Control, Alloy Wheels, Bluetooth, Backup Camera, Premium Package, Climate Package and is not CPO. I want to know which is the best buy since this is first car purchase and I want to make sure I get the right one. I do drive to work everyday aprox. 40 miles but if the 2015 is better than ill make that sacrifice. Thanks to all those that can help

The fuel economy of the 3.6R is significantly lower. I doubt there were any significant improvements from 15 to 16. Unless you need the power I would choose the 2.5 and the warranty is worthwhile. This is really a personal choice.

Okay I was thinking of getting a WRX at first but not many are sold where I live that are within a good price range.

2016 is a newer body style (slight refresh front/rear), that's about it. I'd go CPO on the 16. Better mileage, newer, and CPO.
