Disabled engine/starting problems

Asked by Malibu2015girl Oct 12, 2019 at 02:54 PM about the 2015 Chevrolet Malibu 1LT FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I tried to remote start my Malibu when
trunk was open. It disabled the entire
car. As soon as I was able to get
OnStar to unlock the doors I removed
the key from ignition and the car
started. This happened a week ago
while out of town but today my car has
a clicking noise and the engine barely
turns over. Strange things have
happened all week such as windshield
wipers come on then off when starting
car with key in ignition. If there's a way
to reset the security system would this
help fix the strange things that never
used to happen?

My husband bought a new battery and it cured the problem. Was just a coincidence that the battery went bad at same time i disabled the engine. Thanks.
