Ground Wire to my Engine?

Asked by Jake May 31, 2021 at 03:39 PM about the 2002 Ford Ranger 4 Dr XLT FX4 4WD Extended Cab SB

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2002 Ford Ranger XLT 4.0L , Power Window will not go back up but
goes down.
Switch is good, Motor is good, All fuses checked and are good. So now I am
certain it is in the wiring as Ford said it was more than likely. Where does the
wires go past the boot? On the engine somewhere?

Much appreciated. Summer is almost here.

It's a reversing motor, uses the same voltage and ground. The switch reverses voltage and ground to the window motor. you use jumper wires to the motor, off the battery, for voltage and ground to motor terminals, the motor turns one way, reverse the leads, the motor should turn the other way. that's how I understand it. It doesn't take much to lower the window, more load going up. Just my opinion. good luck
