Reconnected terminals for battery in 2014 Nissan Maxima and I’m getting no power as well as the car not starting

Asked by Soulsliver Dec 10, 2017 at 11:31 AM about the 2014 Nissan Maxima SV

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My battery died in my 2014 Nissan Maxima and I
jumped it and it started fine
But there was corrosion all over the terminals and
later I disconnected the terminals to clean them and
after reconnecting them my car won’t start
It doesn’t have any power at all

Check terminal ends of battery harness for frayed connections. Check main or mega fuse in fuse/relay box underhood. Check fusible links, these look like fatter versions of wires to either alternator or starter relay or starter, if anything had shorted or batt terminals were connected reversed these are designed to blow. Google for what yours look like. If you dumped water across top of battery while cleaning it you may have shorted it. You can swap in a different battery to see if that works or take old battery up to be load tested at a parts store or mechanics.
