Thinking about buying a 2014 Nissan Altima

Hey everyone!

I'm considering buying a 2014 Nissan Altima SL w/ 98k miles on it to replace
my 06 Lincoln Zephyr that currently has tranny problems. I drove the car and
really liked it.

Here's the scoop - the car just recently had the CVT transmission replaced
back in early November at a Nissan dealership. I called up the dealership
today and they confirmed they replaced it and there's still a warranty on it for
another 4+ months, the car maybe has 100 miles on it since the CVT was
replaced. The service records are impeccable, always serviced at Nissan
dealerships and no accidents, just the normal brakes and so on have been
done.

My question - is it worth the risk?

The service technician said that in theory one would think the CVT should
last another 90k miles and that's all I'll need. However, I know these things
have a ton of issues. I realize it's always a gamble buying a used car but I'm
really thinking about rolling the dice on this one.

Anyone's opinion or feedback is much appreciated!

If the car had one owner and is selling it after the CVT transmission was replaced, I would suggest not buying it. After doing some research I noticed that there have been so many complaints about the newer Nissans that the company would repair almost anything up to 120k or 126k (something close to that). I am paraphrasing of course, but I regret buying my 2005 Nissan Altima. It has had one problem after the next, with one previous owner and a little over 126k miles on it.
