Water on driver side front and rear under carpet

Asked by GuruX1KJZ Nov 01, 2018 at 11:16 AM about the 2014 Toyota Corolla LE

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have reoccurring water leaks from an unknown
source causing wet carpets on driver side front
and rear floors. I have removed the rear seat and
peel back the carpet and sealed a couple of drain
plugs. I thought this had resolved the issue, but
wetness is back. This is a 2014 Toyota Corolla.
Any ideas for a fix?

I had put water on the sunroof drain pipes, it all drained out both side. I even took the windshield cowl to see any plug holes and it clear. I discover the big black box in front bottom radio and seen wets. What is this big black box for? Is this where the water coming out? Right now is mystery where the water coming from.

I have this same problem on my 2017 Corolla. I asked the dealer if this is covered under the warranty, and he told me they can’t give me an answer until they do a diagnosis of the car. If the diagnosis shows that it’s a covered item, then it’s covered under the warranty. But if it’s not covered, I have to pay them 150 just for the diagnosis. Not sure whether or not the $150 would get applied against the repair if I let them do it. But if I don’t have them do the repair, then I have to pay them $150. Does anyone have an opinion as to whether or not this should be covered under the warranty?

I didn’t want to make my question any longer than I needed to, so I didn’t indicate that I have a mechanic who could do the repair at a much more reasonable price than the dealer. The key question was whether or not it was likely to be covered under the warranty. As it turned out, I stopped at the mechanics shop, he took a look at it, concluded that it was the air-conditioning drainage tube that was blocked, he used compressor air to blow it out and Water poured out of the house onto the ground. $30.

I got same problem with corolla 2015 and finally after 5 hours researching I was able to find spot where water coming .That spot was right where brake pedal is little more on left side . If you open your hood and look the spot where is inner fender met firewall under master brake cylinder you can see missing seal or bad seal , it is very hard to get your hand into it but I had to remove both wipers , plastic under Wipers , motor and metal bracket and you will be able to see it , and finally I did some caulking with 100 :/: silicone

Do you have any pictures of your repair job? We are having the same issues in our Toyota Corolla 2016. No sunroof, but water in the entire floorboard of the car. Left door was repaired 2 years ago after a deer hit it but no evidence of an obvious water leakage location is present. Thank you.
