2014 Ford Focus reading no gas dies when I try to move the car

Asked by Angel Jun 11, 2018 at 09:35 PM about the 2014 Ford Focus SE

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2014 Ford Focus. I do have transmission issues but this doesn't
seem to be related to that. I had 2 miles till empty and was rushing to the gas
station when all of a sudden it won't accelerate anymore.  I ended up getting
towed home because when I would try to start it sounded like it was stuck on
starting so we put gas in it at least 3 gallons and it will now start but once put
in gear it dies after moving two feet. Has anyone ever had this issue I am
debating on putting more gas in it to see if it will drive before I send it to a
shop?

I would put more gas in it, Try that and hope you did not fry the fuel pump.

Thanks that is what we were thinking of doing just trying to rule out other possibilities

Just and update it was the gas we ran out but everyone kept telling us fuel pump but it is running fine now thanks
