My 2007 crown Vic police intercepter transmission  
only goes on reverse. What year transmission can I
replace it with?

It would probably cost about the same to just order the solenoid required for your car as to getting another transmission

With a lot of careful reading for numbers, and identified by the pan shape, it would be 1 or more will fit. With GMC , a 700 R4 is bigger than a 700 R2 and sturdier ; yet even a Chevy MD80 will work. Sometimes, a weaker brand has a Aluminum Clutch Pack Housing( not steel ) that breaks off at the spindle.
