No there is no way to reset the codes until the problem is fixed. Now as far as the scanner, its like 1980 to 1995 vehicles have a OBD1 computer in them and 1996 on up to present have OBDII in them. So depending on the year vehicle the scanner needs to be capable of reading OBD1 or OBDII codes and ABS codes. Cheap scanners can only read OBDII trouble codes, and not ABS codes, and a better scanner can read OBD1, OBDII, ABS, and air bag codes. And if you need the ABS control unit bled out then you need a scanner with program capabilities and are very spendy.
