Asked by Ron Oct 01, 2016 at 10:59 PM about the 1985 Ford F-150 XL Standard Cab LB

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 85 ford f150 w 302efi I was driving
and it died just like you shut it off. I changed
the pickup coil, ignition coil , and my control
module and it still just cranks over but won't
start and doesn't have any spark.

Use the net and learn how to check the fuel pump for operation. If the engine is getting fuel, check for spark. It will be a process of elimination.

Oopse, sped read and didn't see the spark issue. You will have to back check to determine where the electrical problem is. A hand held volt meter set to 12 volts will be sufficient to do the test.
