I would investigate the cooling system and make sure the radiator fans come on and the temp switch is working correctly and the thermostat is working correctly and that the system is bleed of air and radiator & hoses are in good shape and see if it needs flushed out and do compression test on all cylinders and doing a exhaust in coolant test to insure you know whether the head gasket are good or not or if there may be a possible crack in a head. 220 is not too high but 185-195 is normal so it is higher than normal.

I was told today by a Chevy tech that 195 to 220 is normal and 260 is over heating and the engine fan should come on at 219deg.

I replaced my radiator fan coolant resistor (Part # 15926330) and now during idle the electric fan will come on at 220F and shut off at 200F.... Driving temps run around 183F.
