My car won’t start

Asked by Kaylon Sep 03, 2018 at 01:21 PM about the 2014 Ford Fiesta S Hatchback

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

So long story short if I can. I used me car to move a few
days ago. Drove all day. It was fine. I use it the next day to
help my mother move. I went to a store. Got out for 30
seconds. Came back out and it wouldn’t start. No sound.
Stiff brake. Stuck in Park. So I had it towed. The guy
pulled the car onto the back of the truck and it started. He
towed it to me. It started. He turns it off once it got on the
ground. It wouldn’t start. He shook the car and it clicked.
Tapped the starter and it clicked. But no start. He pulled it
back onto the truck and it started. I drove it to my
apartment and turned it off. It won’t start. My friend put in
a new starter. Nothing. I need help. Desperately

Sounds like the ignition key reader / Transeiver. Also check the fuses and relays are all OK. Is the lioght on the cluster for the PATS (Immoblizer ) system going out when the ignition is switched on or does it flash up a code, stay ON or not come on at all ?
