Dodge Dakota frame swap

Asked by chasebh89 Sep 06, 2017 at 01:59 PM about the 1991 Dodge Dakota LE Club Cab RWD

Question type: General

Not sure which one to out this under, repair and
maintenance or customization so feel free to move
it... I have a 1991 dodge Dakota 5.2L magnum V8
and I need, like /NEED/ , to swap the frame out
(every inch of it is hardcore scaled and bound to
crack soon). I want to get something with 4wd for
the winter but I don't know know what vehicle's
frames fit under it... Ive seen articles about putting
Dakota frames under other cars but it's been
mainly just 50s-70s cars... Any help is appreciated.
Thanks

With a lot of customization you can put a truck frame under almost anything but for your purpose you need another Dakota frame from the same wheel base truck. It is a lot of work so you would probably be better off buying a good Dakota and using your rust bucket for parts.
