Leaking oil

Asked by Killerspykle123 Jul 09, 2018 at 08:52 PM about the 1993 Dodge Stealth FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I put a new alternator in the 93 stealth, non turbo, 3.0 v6. and somehow there is
a leak on the piece that the oil sensor plugs into. Does any know how to get to
that gasket or have any similar problems?

There's no gasket, it uses thread sealant aka. Pipe dope. I would use plumbers Teflon tape because its not rated for oil or the temperatures it will encounter BUT if you happen to have some blue loctite it should work well as long as you clean all the oil off/out of the threads first. I wouldn't recommend using red loctite unless it's an emergency as you'll have a heck of a time getting it out again
