1993 Dodge Ramcharger won't start - no spark.

Asked by SteveS31 Oct 18, 2018 at 07:25 AM about the 1993 Dodge Ramcharger 150 S 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I've changed the crankshaft position sensor, Hall Effect sensor in the
distributor (and rotor and cap), and the automatic shut off relay. I've replaced
the coil, but that didn't work, so I put the old one back on after checking the
resistance in primary and secondary circuits. I've looked for broken wires,
fuses, leaking vacuum hoses. Ideas? I listed it as a 150 S buts its a 250 3/4
ton. I use it as a plow truck.

As far as I can tell it isn't. I put a spark indicator on that line and got no result.

Sorry for not replying but check the coil pack wires and tell me what they say

Thanks for your help on this problem. I don't think this engine has coil packs. This vehicle has a distributor and spark plugs. There are wires and devices on the upper part of the engine, but I took those for being some sort of injectors, even though it has a carburetor. It is an MPFI type engine. I assumed the FI stood for fuel injection. Am I wrong?

If your truck is a '93 then it has multi-point fuel injection. No carburetor. I went through this same thing, my issue turned out to be a ground on the back of the head that had worked itself just loose enough to break the circuit for the entire system. Check everywhere you have a ground. Make sure it's tight and doing what it's supposed to.
