2012 ram 5.7l hemi startup issue

Asked by CLathem Sep 30, 2018 at 09:38 PM about the 2012 RAM 1500 Tradesman Crew Cab

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2012 ram 1500 5.7l hemi, my problem is when
truck is cold it starts right up or when it is hot it starts right
up but if I drive it and let it get to temp then let it sit about
an hour or so where it cools down but not cold when i go to
start it up again it turns over and over eventually starting
but acts like it is either starved for fuel or flooding out, I
know with the computer it is designed to start without
touching the gas pedal but if you bump the gas pedal it will
start, I'm not sure if this next thing has anything to do with
the mentioned problem but also driving it and pushing the
gas to the floor to say pass somebody on the interstate it
hesitates and acts like it is cutting out, I haven't been able
to figure out the problem and the dodge dealership here
says theres nothing wrong with it so I'm lost and I hate to
keep throwing parts at it hoping it will fix it, I have already
replaced the mass air flow sensor or the ram air charge
sensor whatever it is called also the MAP sensor any other
ideas of what it may possibly be? Thanks!

hey man what did you end up finding out about this particular problem. I also have a 2012 1500 outdoorsman (similar to tradesman) with the 5.7hemi and I changed out the MAP, Intake air temp sensor, O2 sensors, was about to do the PCV valve. I do not know what else to do and I'm actually in the military with a American truck...in Italy. Really no available parts or mechanics and help so everything I do is via internet orders or maintenance on my own. Really would appreciate any guidance as I still get engine codes P1129 (first) then P0135 and P0155 which all tell me closed loop fueling not achieved and the O2 sensors heating circuitry is off due to the closed loop not achieved. I read in RAMforumz.com about maybe the Engine Coolant Temp sensor and I haven't had any problems although my truck will not get to a temp above 192 for the coolant even when I'm going 50mph. so yeah if you got yours fixed where any of these the case and what may have been the result. thank you for whatever you offer
