I have an 89 honda prelude B20a swap with a 5 speed tranny and it wont go reverse/

i have an 89 honda prelude si 2.0L 5 speed stick with 259,882 on the speedometer just put the same B20A no B20A5 with less then 50,000 miles on it and my car wont go reverse i put it in reverse and slides over to 4th gear then i put it back to reverse and it does the same think when im trying to reverse it and it wont go reverse it graves 1st to 5th put no reverse what can it really be?

did you get the engine from another prelude ?

no i got it import from japan with 15,000 to 50,000 miles on it and my 2nd 4th and reverse wont go in and sometimes my 2nd and 4th goes in but not my reverse at all

im betting on the tranny or shifter linkage can you engage any other gear and drive off? if not, check clutch aswell
