86 Firebird

I have a 86 Firebird and i was going in
reverse when I heard this loud pop as I stop
check around seen nothing. As I proceed to
drive and the car stars making loud rumbling
noise once I acaccelerate but when I take
my foot off accelerator the nosies stop and
the car rides smooth but once I accelerate
again the nosise start back.

Any suggestion of what it could be?

Check the U-Joints on the driveshaft. You may have one ready to fail. If the U-Joints are good (no looseness) then it may be a problem with the rear end differential. I would suggest putting the rear axle up on jack stands and checking.
