2013 Chevy Impala with a squeal in the front end

Asked by GuruX67GS Nov 17, 2018 at 10:33 PM about the 2013 Chevrolet Impala LT FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I had to have my car towed yesterday because the battery was dead and
couldn't get it jump started. They pulled it on the flatbed while in park. Now I
have a squeal in the front end when it gets to 40 mph or higher and it is very
loose when you hit a bump. The noise does go away when braking. What could
be causing this squeal and could it be from the tow?

They may have damaged your car winching it down tight to the flatbed. They basically stretch it down tight. Have your mechanic examine it for marks on the suspension when the chains were attached. Then look closer for bending or damage to lower control arms and stuff like that. Tow truck drives aren't always smart enough to hook those "T" hooks into the tow holes in the unibody rails. That's the way professional car haulers hook up without causing suspension damage.
