fuel gauge is staying way past full mark

hello   i have a 2000 r/t convertible with just $10k miles & i just took out of storage and drove it about 80 miles & the Gas gauge is not moving , its staying way past the Full mark ? should i let it get low on gas & try & refill it or is the gauge bad ? all other gauges are working fine ?   if so please respond back to me my email is lflorio@aol.com   Your responses will be greatly appreciated.   Thank You

the gauge is getting a signal, its fine, the problem would be the sending unit in the tank is stuck or has failed.

    when the wipers are turned on the drivers side works fine. the passenger turns on but is intermittent when on low or high. Don't think that is a motor issue maybe a linkage issue?
