I might replace my air filter in that system and spray a splash of WD 40 inside my fuel cap. Drive around the block or couple blocks. Hard to say with Dodge. Good luck

Randy is right. If the problem is fixed, it will take a few drive cycles for the light to go off. Or it can be cancelled with a code reader. Last resort, you can cancel a check engine light by disconnecting the battery a few minutes.

A leak in the EVAP system can trigger the gas cap warning.

I been driving it for 6 days straight and it hasn't turned off. I literally just checked it with the obd and the gas cap code came back on. But oddly enough there was an oily substance on the white insert part and the rubber ring on the gas cap. It did not smell like gas and was oily to the touch. Could that cause a leak. It might be from the 1st cheap replacement gas cap?

Thank you Hornet. I was going to mention disc battery as well but just don't know Dodge too well to say that. I ran my Ford pick up for a year with my check light on. Then one day it dawned on me about the air filter. I got rid of oil base and went to fiber filter. Light was off in 3 blocks
