Question type: Maintenance & Repair

2001 dodge stratus 4 door <——Last week my dad left a light on in my car so it died over night. I got a jumb the next day at 6 am and it died again. (Around 6/7ish in the afternoon) I was too sick to go outside in the cold and restart it. Fast forward to the end of the week the car hasnt been dying on me but it takes a little to start it up. ( doesn’t start up right away) and I expect that but today I drove about 20 miles for a job interview and back to dallas. I start my car up again3/1/2 hours later and the battery light turns on while I’m driving. Has anyone ever experienced this. Really need help. Whats the cause of these symptoms. Im not sure if the car is a SE coupe or not

If the battery light is on this indicates a problem with the charging system. Battery terminal connections need to be absolutely clean, free from corrosion and tight. Check to see if the belt that turns the alternator is in good condition and has not come off. Have the alternator and the battery tested.

Sounds like a bad alternator or short in battery causing alternator to not charge battery.
