Ford Fiesta 2012

Asked by Leigh Jun 05, 2018 at 03:08 PM about the 2012 Ford Fiesta S Hatchback

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Recently I’ve been having a problem? With my car. When
driving I can hear the radiator fan is louder than usual and
my car starts to almost chug along. Setting off feels like
I’m almost about to stall, taking foot off the accelerator
makes the car chug when it doesn’t usually. When I’ve got
to my destination after switching the engine off the fan
continues to run loudly for a while before stopping. The
weather has been hot recently so I’m wondering if this is
causing it. This doesn’t happen on every drive I do
though, some days it’s fine others this happens. I can
even drive somewhere fine then a few hours drive again
and it’s happening. Is this something I should be worried
about?

It could be electrical malfunctions but before we say that, check your coolant level and make sure your engine temperature gauge is reading normal and not overheating.

Coolant level has been checked and the gauge doesn’t show the engine is getting too hot.
