Interior lights won’t shut off when door closed

sounds like a faulty door latch.

Could be one of several problems. Most of the time it is the door 'switch' is busted and remains in the 'shorted' or closed position. With the Edge, unlike most cars, the interior lights are supposed to remain on until you hit the "lock" on your key fob. Does the key fob fail to 'lock' the doors? If so have the door switch checked. If the door switches are good then have the BCM checked for shorts.

I doubt this is the case but did you check to make sure your switch inside the car that's like a dial knob that dims the dash lights isn't turned over to the on position for the interior lights?

Linda_60 thanks! I had a similar issue on my Ford F250 - for at least 2 minutes the interior lights were not shutting off after closing the doors. Turns out I had turned the dash dimming dial all the way up until it clicks - didn't realize that's Ford's (non-standard!) way of turning on all the interior lights.
