Vacuum hose

Asked by Lwp2012 Apr 24, 2018 at 12:42 PM about the 2002 Dodge Caravan SE FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2002 dodge caravan that has a busted
vacuum hose(i taped it could not find one at the
time) and now it's missing now and smells like gas
inside the van when you start it up. Could this be
the cause or is it something else.  There's no inside
lights on saying something need checked.

Most likely, but without being able to inspect the vehicle, we can only go off what you state in your post. There could be other problems causing your symptoms. Try replacing the hose first, and check for additional vacuum leaks since you may have jostled other hoses. (a vacuum leak could cause you to run too rich, causing it to run rough or miss as well as fuel smell.) Check the injectors too, and make sure they're not leaking.
