Certified means the new car dealership has bought or was traded back in a vehicle that is their brand (in your case a frontier to a nissan dealer). Then they service it, fix anything that is wrong, perform recalls ect. Most will give a longer factory warranty. However they do charge more for it being certified. Usually $900-2000 more depending how new and how much warranty they give.

Great answer. Keep in mind that when you buy your car where you service your car they stand behind the car more because their reputation is on the line. This is true for almost all dealers except Hyundai. The warranty is only as good as the people standing behind it. See what reviews you can find on the dealer. If they stink go somewhere else or buy the car there and take it to a different dealer for warranty service.
