Does my Dodge Charger have to be flashed/reprogrammed after having oil pressure sensor changed??

Asked by anich85 Nov 18, 2018 at 02:11 PM about the 2012 Dodge Charger SE RWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I brought my 2012 Dodge Charger to a
licensed mechanic, because the check
engine light was on. After they did a
diagnostic test they told me it was the oil
pressure sensor and it needed to be
replaced. I agreed to have them do the repair,
but now after it’s been done and I’ve paid
them they tell me I need to bring my vehicle
to the dealership to have the part be
flashed/reprogrammed. The check engine
light is still on. This sounds like CRAP!! Has
anyone ever had their oil pressure sensor
changed? Has it required reprogramming of
any sort?
