Power steering not working

Asked by TDOG9103 Jun 22, 2021 at 10:58 PM about the 2012 Ford Escape Limited AWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

If you put my power steering went out on a 2012
Ford escape but I know that there’s no flute has
anyone else had this problem? Also if I’m not going,
my car will turn off and I have to restart it. Also it
looks like the traction control and ABS light stays
on, any help on this would be great thanks.

Note the diagram, click on the diagram to enlarge. at the least, you can check voltage and ground. You can see the two fuses, check the fuses and voltage. You can use test light light to check voltage. The bottom wire in diagram, primary wire color black, is ground, check that also. Check applicable trouble related to power steering. As far as idle, clean the throttle bore and around throttle plate, don't force the throttle plate, see if cleaning helps the idle? you have electric throttle body/drive by wire throttle. Check for applicable trouble codes relating to that system. Just my opinion.
