Question type: Maintenance & Repair

2000 Chrysler Sebring LXI, sometimes while climbing a hill or hard accelerating
car won't go into overdrive, which causes me to turn ignition on and back off
real fast to get it into higher gear. What could this be caused by?

Before taking vehicle to the Transmission Shop (In-this-case Recommended). Check: Transmission Fluid level, Transmission Fluid is brown or it has a burned smell or is overheated?.., Change transmission fluid and filter. Transmission shift harshly, uneven or irregular?.., check Ignition Switch-Transmission and Range switch for malfunctioning. Check: Transmission fuse, TCM fuse, Electronic Throttle Control Fuse and PCM/Powertrain Relay. Thanks
