Question type: Maintenance & Repair

As long as I'm driving my truck everything seems to be fine there are no weird sounds and everything seems to be running fine. However, as soon I put my foot on the brake my oil pressure drops to nothing. my engine is not overheating as far as I can tell and there's no knocking or strange sounds what so ever. So it's hard for me to believe that I actually have no oil pressure.

New update. so I tried driving around for a little bit this morning and my truck still runs fine and sounds fine. the only problem is now my oil pressure never goes up. it always just sitting there with the needle in the red. Still not making any sounds acting different what so ever...

i know this is old but it may help someone in the future, my 98 ram 3500 5.9 gasser was doing this, i changed the sensor 3 times, i flushed the oil every 500 miles. still was doing it it began to noticeably run rough so i changed the plugs and wires, still losing pressure, so i replaced the cap and rotor and finally the ignition coil. i no longer have a problem, my best guess is spark was not strong enough to properly ignite all the fuel making low compression

My 97 1500 oil drops to nothing I have changed the oil pump, oil sending unit 4 times and sparkplugs and distributor and coil out still doing the same the truck has 253000 miles on it. Im thinking its time for a over hall dun to the motor. the only thing I have not change out is the dummy gage in the dash.

https://youtu.be/p6uPGPAF-l0 www.jilcatproline.com You need to clean out the sludge and remove friction with Jilcat Proline Engine Conditioner I have done it in multiple 5.9 and 5.7 Dodge engines.

I've read online that it could be from a rear main seal leak. My 08 doing same thing and my seal is leaking so I'm changing that tom I'll let you know
