Coolant

Asked by GuruQLZ2T Nov 17, 2019 at 03:43 PM about the 2011 Ford F-150 Lariat SuperCrew LB 4WD

Question type: General

My truck had been sitting for about a week
down here in S Texas when we had a little
cold snap of around mid 30’s, when I noticed
coolant under my’11 F 150 5.0. Mind you it
wasn’t leaking like a drip, drip, it would just be
there in the morning, not being driven or
started at all for a week.
No leaks detected in engine compartment all.
Everything was fine before I left.

The easiest way to check for a leak is to pressure test the system. Larger auto parts stores like Autozone will loan you the tool for free, all you have to do is place a refundable deposit. Take the proper fitting from the took, attach it to the radiator, pump it up to about 12 pounds, and believe me, if there is a leak you will definitely see it.
