2012 Focus Radio crackling

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

The radio in my 2012 Focus Sel Hatchback started crackling and now has completely
stopped working. The ford dealership told me that the radio needed to be replaced but
that it wasn't under warranty. If the radio is defective shouldn't that be fixed by Ford?
During my search for this issue it seems to be a common problem with this make &
model. The dealership wanted over $600 for another factory radio. Couldnt i just buy
one and have it installed elsewhere?

not enough info..your saying the unit itself is popping and feeding the speakers that sound or is a speaker blow ? anyway go online and look up any one of many car audio outlets..some offer A $1.00 install >http://creativeaudio.net/outlet/?sort=pricedesc&price_max=342&page=6
