Why I can't get my 2007 Taurus remote to work with the car I did the eight times what else can I try

Not being a smart ass but is the battery in the fob old(possibly dead) or did you replace it? When you turned the ignition 8 times was it very fast, less than 5 seconds? If you did it fast enough did the door locks cycle on the 8th time?
