What to do about fuse or switch problem

Asked by Dclaphan Dec 25, 2017 at 10:54 PM about the 2011 Ford Explorer Limited 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

2011 Ford Explorer. Park lights, dash lights, radio, and interior lights aren't
shutting off properly. Seems like there is something weird about the door
locks locking and unlocking when I walk by the vehicle with the phob in my
pocket.

You could have a problem with the anti-theft mechanism within the vehicle itself. These problems are usually beyond repair for the average person. But, try using another fob as the one you have may be constantly transmitting a signal. If you rule out the fob the problem could be in the ignition switch. Try disconnecting the battery for a minute then reconnect and see if the system resets.

Found the answer. The fob was damaged and would short out whenever i was close or functions were activated. Thanks so much for your efforts
