Escalade won't start

I was driving my escalade it seemed
fine I turned it off for all but 5 minutes
now it won't start I got 2 jumps it
tried to turn over but would not start
when the cable came off the battery
it immediately died and all I hear is a
fast clicking sound please help would
could this be

you have a battery that is below 9.5 volts when key is turned. So-- either a bad batt+ or the Altenator is not charging enough

Mechanic said the spider lines are bad what us the proper name for them? My Cadillac is a 2000 Escalade suv.
