2011 Ford hybrid rapid clicking sound but won't start.

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Car won't start.  Rapid clicking sound from behind driver's side dash. Has approximately 60,000 miles on it. Could it be the battery? Help please.

Certainly possible the battery is at fault (the battery under the hood). Have it tested. Also you should still be under warranty if there is a fault with the hybrid system.

Oh thank you! You were absolutely right-it was the battery. Funny that the clicking could only be heard from inside the car--not under the hood. Thanks again. Sharron

That was causing me to think about it also. You would have thought the clicking would have been heard under the hood. Glad you found it, might want to get the charging system checked if the battery is good, but only discharged.

I've got the same thing---car won't start, and even when unpowered has a driver's side clicking noise, which can't be heard under the hood. Checking/replacing the battery....

Tomcat1000, what happened with your situation? I have the same thing happening and wondered if I might leverage from whatever your experience turned out to be. Thanks in advance for any help/information!
