Escape runs Rough, Poor acceleration

I have a 2011 Ford Escape Limited V6 which, in the past couple of years, has seemed to lose power, doesn't accelerate well, runs kinda rough, RPM's shoot up, and gas mileage isn't as good as it once was. Spark plugs have recently been replaced. No "check engine" light on. It's never stalled out and has never left me stranded. Once in a while when I go to start it, it'll crank longer than usual before it starts, but it will always start. Mileage is 110,000. I've taken it to our local Ford dealership in the past, and their reply has always been "it's normal". It's not normal for a vehicle that ran great for 5 years, to suddenly start running poorly. I love my Escape and really don't want to get rid of it. Any help would be appreciated.

We're the spark plug changed recently? Doesn't accelerate and RPM's shooting up could mean a transmission issue.
The plugs were changed about 4 months ago, and I had the problem prior to that. Changing the plugs made no difference. The acceleration issue is just at take-off but not any other time. When I'm at a dead stop and then accelerate, it goes right up to 3-4 RPM's and then settles back down. Gas mileage sucks. Car runs great on the highway.
Hi, did you ever figure out the issue? I also have a 2011 Ford Escape v6 that has the same issues with no check engine light. I just had my spark plugs replaced with no change in acceleration from a stop and Rpm shoot up to 3-4. Also takes a few cranks or one longer crank to turn engine over! Would love to know what I can do to fix this annoying issue!

Any update on this? I’m having the same issue, except my engine has turned off while driving. Electrical is still on, but car coasts to a stop.

Mass airflow sensor is very dirty or going out make sure to get a new air filter and check your throttle position sensor also they like to go out around the same time

Have 2010 mariner2.5 same issue after engine swap dealer was baffled and I checked harness at cht sensor plug clip broken so weak connection I'm changing cht sensor and engine harness also going to check timing make no one tried something I was from junkyard so you don't know but I feel the cht sensor is causing all the issues it sends signal to computer to tell it to adjust air and fuel even though it tested good I scanned all sensors after letting the car sit for two days and it read 102 degrees and haven't even ran the engine for two days hmmm wrong so here I am gonna try it 13 dollars beats a new car
