The gears came back but I haven't moved it since then. What should I do?

Just bought this BMW. Never owned one.
Immediately took it to get oil change fluids check
and lights. 2 weeks later it stalls twice. Once at a
stop and another time mid turn. Then I was in a
drive thru and tried putting it in park and it went to
neutral so I went back in drive, got home tried
parallel parking and lost reverse.

This is why you don't buy old BMW's even though price is tempting. At this point you are probably looking at taking out a second on your house if you want to fix this thing.

Is the transmission fluid leaking? Was the fluid changed ever in it's life. BMW used to say it was lifetime fluid. It should be changed every 50K miles. You can try a fluid and filter change to see if that will help. That will run you around $250. But if that doesn't work, then your looking at rebuilding the transmission. That will run you around $3K

I find rebuilt transmissions for your car starting out at a little under 5 grand with minimal warranty. For a good warranty you are looking at over 10 grand and that is for a 2004 car. Installation is extra.
