BMW OVERHEATING

Asked by Mariah Mar 31, 2018 at 12:10 AM about the 2003 BMW 5 Series 530i Sedan RWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

changed basically the whole cooling system
besides the radiator.. car overheats about 5 mins of
it running. changed the thermostat, water pump,
hoses, everything almost.. the fan in the front wont
kick on though... tried to replace it with new one
and no luck. anyone have any answers maybe? car
was looked over and auto shop didnt see any leaks
from coolant.. looked fine to them, they didnt know
why

It is possible that there is air throughout the system. Try this: Turn on ignition, Set heating controller to maximum temperature, Set fan to low setting. This opens the heating valves and starts the auxiliary water pump, Perform filling operation slowly, Pour coolant into coolant expansion tank up to max. Cold fill level, Close vent plug when bubble-free coolant emerge, Close coolant expansion tank.

Wow thanks I'll try this as I've had on going problems with overheating , I'm sure it's an air lock bloody bet this sill fix it. Let u know.
