Ignition won't turn all the way back to release the key

Asked by Scorpio64 May 19, 2019 at 12:19 AM about the 2005 Cadillac CTS 3.6L RWD

Every since the ignition stopped going all the way
back to release the key the car will start but the
light on the shift when you put it in gear if off now
and when I put it in drive it's like the break is on
when it's not
