Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Being a light foot driver, when I come to a stop the trans shifts somewhat hard to 1st with light pressure on the gas.  Told the transmission was learning.  But after 8000 miles, it must be a slow learner.  I can avoid the problem with moderate acceleration from a stop.  The shift is not a bang or bam, just annoying.  The wife even noticed it, and she hardly rides in the car.  Is there a fix?  Or should I just "learn" to drive with a slight leadfoot?  Other then from a dead stop, the vehicle shifts well.

in my opinion; a vehicle needs a good squirt of throttle once in a while.

2010,8,000 miles.should still be under warinety,it dont sound right, take it back to dealer have them do a scan and fix it or replace.

Question pops. Since I can avoid the hard shift when I use moderate acceleration from a dead stop, is the tranny shifting from 1st. to 2nd early due to being a lightfoot? Or could it be, while stopped, the tranny is in some other gear wating for aceleration to shift? I thought an auto tranny always shifts back to 1st when stopped.

it does, could be a possable bad lock out in the tranny, something is not right in it,light foot or not,it should not act this way.

it is.could be a bad lockout in the tourk converter, eather way its not right.how you drive it should not affect it.
