2010 Dodge Journey heat problem

Asked by Jeramy Nov 24, 2018 at 06:15 PM about the 2010 Dodge Journey SXT AWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2010 Dodge Journey, both of the
pipes going into the heater core are hot.
Recently had to replace the thermostat.
Initially it was just my passenger heat that
wasn’t working. Now it’s both, and I replaced
the blend door actuator on the driver side
and still no heat.
I would think maybe it’s the heater core, had
one of the pipes were cold, (but this isn’t the
case).
Blower motor is going strong, and I have
visually seen the blend door open and close
under the dash on the driver side.
Any suggestions?

I have the same problem on a 2012 Journey. The passenger’s side gets warm but not hot. I have checked the heater core and the pipes going to it. Both lines are hot. I have watched the actuator move the lever for the door. I have taken the actuator off and moved the lever for the door myself. I hear it moving and I notice a change in temperature but the air coming out of the vents do not get hot on the passenger’s side. The air gets cold when I move the lever down and it gets warm when I move it up, just not hot like the driver’s side. I don’t think it’s an actuator since I am moving the door myself with the same results.

There are only two on the passenger’s side, the mode and the blend actuator. Unless there is another one that I am not seeing?

So I flushed the heater core, after swapping two blend doors. Returned beat to the driver side, however now heat to the passenger isn’t working still. Even on defeat mode heat is only on drivers half of the vehicle.

I just started having this on my 2010 dodge journey awd. What steps do I take to see what it is? I am a single mom so I cant have this hopefully costing a crapload of money. Its only the passenger side that is cold. In what order do i check things?

I had my blend door actuator and thermostat replaced along with a heater core flush. It blows harder and warmer than it did before!!
