AC blowing hot, GMC Acadia

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

AC is blowing hot, already tried recharging.  When car idles and AC turned on,
RPM's have a slight surge every few seconds.  Not sure if problem is
compressor itself or a relay/fuse.  Going to try changing the compressor relay,
where is it located?

The surge you are seeing will happen each time the compressor cycles. When it comes on it puts a little strain on the engine and it will reduce the RPM's. Sorry, I do not know where your relay is located. Did you leak test the system to determine you can maintain a full refrigerant charge?

I tried pulling the relay and reinserting, and the AC began working again, now on day 3. So something in the control module must have "rebooted". $0 fix, hoping it sticks. Regarding refrigerant charge, pressure is squarely in the green. Thanks for input!

Which fuse did you pull? I am having the same issues!

I pulled and reinserted the compressor relay (cube shape) and pulled/reinserted the compressor clutch fuse. It somehow reset and started blowing cold again. My first $0.00 repair!

Where can I find the compressor relay? I am googling it now trying to figure it out!

Try replacing the serpentine belt. If it is slipping you will have issues with the AC when the compressor kicks on.
